It’s May which means it’s strawberry season! My local farmers market celebrated this weekend with strawberry shortcake. I personally do not enjoy baking so making a gluten free shortcake is not in the cards for me but I made these delicious deviled strawberries instead. I think you are going to love them!
What You’ll Need
- Organic Strawberries
- Cream Cheese
- Marshmallow Fluff
- Dark Chocolate (optional)
How to Make these Deviled Strawberries
First, when purchasing strawberries, it is recommended that you always buy organic or buy them from a trusted farmer at your local farmers market. Strawberries are ranked #1 on EWGs Dirty Dozen List because they are covered in harmful pesticides.
When you are ready to make this recipe, you need to wash your strawberries. Even if they are organic, they need to be rinsed off.
Next, hull out the strawberries with a pairing knife and cut the tip off to make a foot so the strawberry will stand up on your serving platter.
Mix together the cream cheese and marshmallow fluff. I use Kite Hill dairy free cream cheese and Toonie Moonie Organic Marshmallow Creme but you do what’s best for you and your family.
Add the mixture to a piping bag or a plastic bag. Cut the tip off and fill the strawberries. Shave some dark chocolate on top to mimic the paprika in deviled eggs. Try not to eat them all before you serve them! Enjoy!
